Landlords it is your responsibility if there is a fault, due to inadequate wiring in one of your rented properties. It is a legal requirement that all Landlords make sure that the wiring, sockets and switch faceplates, light fittings and all electrical appliances you provide in your rented home are safe. It is soon to be required by law, that landlords must provide an EICR (electrical installation condition report) for all new tenancies from the 1st July. This applies if you are a private, housing association or council tenant.
